Dr. Paul Magarelli Welcomes Back Families of IVF Clinic at University of New Mexico
Albuquerque, NM. (Sept. 15, 2008) – More than 50 proud parents and their children joined Dr. Paul C. Magarelli and staff of Reproductive Medicine & Fertility Center (RMFC) for the clinic’s 3rd Annual Baby Boom held at Jerry Cline Park on Sept. 14. The event was coordinated as a picnic celebration of family, and provided an opportunity for families born as a result of RMFC’s program at University of New Mexico (UNM) to connect with others. “It’s tremendously fulfilling to visit with each of the families created through RMFC, to see the children and to watch the families connect within the community,” shared Dr. Magarelli, who mingled with the families as children ate, played in the park and enjoyed music from live radio broadcasts. “I hope that others will see the joy that children bring to a family, and understand that there are real solutions to the life crisis of infertility. These children are living proof of that.” Reproductive Medicine & Fertility Center is the first private practice IVF clinic in a university setting. Since its inception at UNM in 2003, more than 100 babies have been born to parents in New Mexico using in vitro fertilization. Magarelli started the clinic to make treatment more convenient for would-be parents, many of whom were travelling to the other closest IVF lab – in Colorado Springs, Colo.
