We all have a private hell that we must deal with. The emotional impact of fertility and infertility are tough, especially during the holidays. We try to be as sensitive as we can and we work in the field. How do you think others that can not possibly understand the ache of wanting a baby that seems to be slow in coming can feel. So... read and share the article... it is a little tough but you will get the point.
The Silent Hell of Infertility During Holidays
Our ability to do OncoFertility has grown over the past few years with vitrification (freezing eggs) and freezing of ovarian tissue for cancer patients. Now we have additional information that codifies the fact that we can preserve future fertility for our cancer and other patients. Like the article, RMFC provides free care for our cancer patients (IVF care) and we can also get help from the pharmaceuticals companies for the products that they produce. ... read
TRANSPLANTING OVARIAN TISSUE HELPS SOME WOMEN HAVE BABIES
The question of "do I have eggs?" has been ever present in infertility clinics throughout our inception of clinical care. However, most times our patients really don't want the answer. If it is YES, then OK, if it is NO...there is problem. I get it. Since we don't have a good tool we have two choices: create a rule..."no one can do IVF if their AMH is some number" or "let's try with your eggs and see what happens"- we call the program FIT IVF.. Females in Transition (FIT) IVF. This allows patients at least one try... then the "best test" for knowing if you have eggs is an IVF cycle. Really, can you get follicles containing eggs to respond... that's it. We use AMH, FSH, OAR (combination of FSH, LH, AMH, Inhibin, Estradiol), and Antral Follicle Count.
So what to do? Go forward with individualized treatments as we do at RMFC is my vote...however we will continue to describe and explain your results so that you can make an informed decision. Stay tuned.
Women Find A Fertility Test Isn't As Reliable As They'd Like by Eliza Barclay
Being sensitive to women's feelings are at the heart of this story plus the heart is at risk with PCOS... hypertension and cardiovascular disease. PCOS, or Insulin resistance plagues our infertile population and unfortunately our fertility population. One of the saddest issues facing fertility doctors is our inability to "understand" what is happening when the sperm and egg meet and why some embryos grow and lots do not. A recent publication has "unlocked" some of the mystery. They have identified 32 genes that seem to control the first steps in the process of embryo development. Yeah! What I envision is as we understand more about the process... we will be better able to identify the "ideal" embryo to transfer. read on

This is like the pot calling the kettle black! I tend, as a physican in a busy practice, eat on the run... very fast, very unconsciously. Then of course we diet...which is nothing but conscious eating. What about if we consciously eat on the run, meaning, we think for 2 minutes about what we are doing and focus... try it read on...

IVF with Comprehensive Chromosomal Screening has been an enormous success for our infertiltiy patients. This technique of testing each embryo BEFORE we put them in allows us to "help" select those embryos destined to make One Healthy Baby (Our HQA Slogan). What usually keep patients from getting this procedure is cost and misunderstanding. Our HQA - CCS program has all but revolutionized the ability for couple to get IVF with CCS (Our fee is $ 8000 and that includes the IVF, ICSI, biopsy, culture and testing of up to 8 "normaL" embryos versus the usual $ 35,000 to $ 40,000 that is charged in other programs).
The second issue is misunderstanding... well this article does a great job of helping with that. For more info, call us at 877-475-2229 or email us at info@RMFCfertility.com
